Called “Daughter of Grenade” , Tetouan was built by people escaped from the Kingdom of Grenade. You can see the influence of the Andalusian and Mediterranean Cultures throughout its Medina (Old town) and the New town. Tetouan shares its Mediterranean character with Tangier, being a place of exchange and freedom as reflected in its heritage  Tetouan’s Old City is classified by Unesco as a World Heritage Site.
