Tanja Marina Bay International Hosted the 10th Round of the Sea Sport FishingChampionship
On 11 and 12 April 2026, Tanja Marina Bay International hosted the 10th round of the Sea
Sport Fishing Championship, bringing together sport fishing enthusiasts and competitors in
the exceptional setting of Tangier Bay.
Organized by the Tingis Sport Fishing Association, under the auspices of the Royal
Moroccan Federation of Sea Sport Fishing (FRMPSM), in coordination with the authorities
of the Tangier-Medina urban district and the port administrative annex, the event was held
in partnership with Tanja Marina Bay International and the Royal Yacht Club of Tangier.
As part of the annual nautical activities program, the competition promoted responsible
sport fishing through the "No Kill" approach, highlighting respect for the marine
environment and the preservation of fishery resources.
The competition took place on the right side of the Marina, facing the municipal beach, and
brought together 17 anglers from the association, with the presence of honorary guest
champion Ayoub Chaâiri. More than 250 fish were caught during the event, including 188
meeting regulatory standards, before being safely released back into the sea in accordance
with the competition rules.
This edition was marked by a strong competitive spirit while conveying an important
message about protecting the biodiversity and marine resources of Tangier Bay.
